Wojciech Sas attended renowned HERCULES 2024 school

Our PostDoc colleague Wojciech Sas was accepted for and attended HERCULES 2024 school from February 26 to March 28, 2024.

HERCULES EUROPEAN SCHOOL is a five weeks course coordinated by the

Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA). The school provides training for students, postdoctoral and senior scientists from European and non-European universities and laboratories, in the field of Neutrons, X-ray Synchrotron Radiation, and Free Electron Laser for condensed matter studies. Neutron and X-ray science is integrated with complementary techniques like optical, electron, and atomic force microscopy, NMR, optical spectroscopy.

The school includes lectures, practicals, tutorials, and visits of Large Facilities: ALBA in Barcelona, KIT in Karlsruhe, Petra III and European XFEL in Hamburg, Elettra and FERMI in Trieste, ESRF and ILL in Grenoble, SOLEIL in Paris-Saclay, and PSI in Villigen.

During the School, Wojciech spent four weeks at the Polygone Scientifique in Grenoble where lectures, practicals, labs, and tutorials took place at various scientific institutions across Grenoble. He also spent one week at Elettra synchrotron and FERMI free electron laser in Trieste, Italy.

Wojciech participated in the session A courses of the school, “Physics and chemistry of condensed matter”. The activities for this group included courses dedicated to various diffraction, spectroscopic, and imaging techniques, as well as examples of applications. He also presented a poster titled “Prussian blue analogs with reduced dimensionality — synthesis and properties”.
